Can i just say this is bloody good news (especially for the rest of the world)
Same in DC. AMAZING. Honking horns, whoops and shouts!
There was also celebration in the streets here in Madison. You'd have sworn the Packers had just won the Superbowl. Except that this was better!
There was both rejoicing and wailing and gnashing of teeth here.
Democracy, back by popular demand! Woohoo!!!
Living in a small red town, we are one happy blue family. It's gonna be a tough climb but he's the right man for the job.
Congratulations! If I may say, the thing that impressed me most, other than the man himself, were the scenes of the line ups! That's Democracy in action.
our new bike...
I must be the only Republican who rides his bike to work. Should I start driving?
Republican commenters (this and previous thread): it's OK. I've eaten food grown by Republicans, even, and it was tasty. I think riding a bike for transportation is more rugged-individualist maverick self-reliant true conservative than ... Republicans. See also this. As long as that kind of messaging flies with the GOP, this site will proudly lean the other way. Anyway, the first family will get pushed down soon as i come up with something new to post.
I was riding home downtown from a victory dinner and every block or so, other cyclists were ringing their bells and "woo hoo!"ing, and pedestrians waved and smiled and cheered at everyone in sight -- total strangers, all, yet so happy and relieved after eight long years of national destruction by the Republicans. No one in blue Portland even minded that I was wearing red -- the shower's pass rain jacket I got at CC. It was really a memorable night.
