Apply a small amount to the top and bottom of your brooks saddle after purchase and whenever it seems dry to condition the leather and to give it a little water resistance. Let it soak in, then buff off with a soft cloth before riding.
Dark saddles have a tendency to give off some color when they're damp or freshly proofed, so don't wear light colored clothing until it's thoroughly absorbed.
