How much does a Protection Plan cost? 

The cost of your plan depends on the price of your e-bike. Simply select your bike’s purchase price above, and the price for the Protection Plan will automatically update.

Why should I purchase a Protection Plan? 

A Protection Plan gives you peace of mind and hassle-free enjoyment of your e-bike. Electric bikes are a significant investment, and just one major repair could easily cover the cost of this plan.

Can I wait to purchase a Protection Plan later? 

No. Our Protection Plan, underwritten by Guardsman, must be registered on the date of your e-bike purchase or within a 15-day grace period.

Can I buy a Protection Plan for a used bike? 

Unfortunately, no. Protection Plans are only available for new bikes purchased from Clever Cycles.

What is covered? 

The plan covers all non-wear parts on your e-bike, including:

•Drivetrain

•Transmission

•Suspension

•Shifters

•Motor and electronics (excluding the battery)

What is NOT covered? 

Just like car warranties, certain exclusions apply. The plan does not cover:

•Wear parts (tires, tubes, grips, brake pads, seat fabric, batteries)

•Routine maintenance or wear and tear

•Third-party damage or misuse

How long does coverage last? 

The Protection Plan lasts for 5 years from the date of your e-bike purchase.

What about the manufacturer’s warranty? 

The manufacturer’s warranty always takes precedence. The Protection Plan picks up where it leaves off.

Can any bike shop handle claims under my Protection Plan? 

Yes! If you can’t make it to Clever Cycles, contact Guardsman at 1-877-248-7707 with your Contract Purchase Receipt and Product Purchase Receipt. Once your claim is approved, they’ll guide you on getting service at a local authorized shop or reimbursing service done elsewhere.

Can my Protection Plan be transferred if I sell my bike? 

Yes! The Protection Plan transfers with the bike at no cost to you or the new owner. Call 866-493-6573 to update the plan.

Is a Protection Plan the same as a Service Plan? 

No. A Service Plan covers routine maintenance for your e-bike. A Protection Plan covers unexpected component failures, manufacturing defects, and accidents. For complete coverage, we recommend having both.
