Rules & Eligibility

• How to enter: Stop by Clever Cycles in Portland during our open hours and let us know you’d like to join the Brompton Folding Challenge!
• Anyone is welcome to participate, but only Bromptons purchased at Clever Cycles are eligible for the store credit upon winning the contest.
• All participants must agree to the rules and guidelines before competing.

Challenge Guidelines

• The bike must be folded and unfolded in its original Brompton configuration (no modifications allowed that impact folding speed).
• Each participant will be allowed up to three official attempts to record their fastest time during a single challenge session.
• The fastest time out of the three attempts will be recorded and placed on the leaderboard if within the top ten.
• A Clever Cycles staff member will act as the official timekeeper and oversee the challenge to ensure compliance with the rules.

Folding Process

• The folding process must start with the bike fully unfolded and end with the bike properly latched in its fully folded position including the folding pedal. The bike must be standing in its folded position upon completion and be able to be picked up without unfolding.

• Participants must fold the bike entirely on their own, using only their hands or other parts of their body. No external tools, assistance, or involvement from others is allowed.

• The folding must be performed on a flat, stable surface designated by Clever Cycles.

Leaderboard and Timing

• The leaderboard will be updated periodically throughout the year to reflect the fastest times recorded.
• Times will be measured in seconds, rounded to the nearest hundredth, using the official Clever Cycles timer.
• In the event of a tie, the participant who recorded their time first will hold the higher position on the leaderboard.

Code of Conduct

• Participants must act respectfully toward other competitors and Clever Cycles staff at all times.
• Any form of cheating, intentional disruption, or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in disqualification.

Winner Announcement

• The winner will be determined based on the fastest folding time recorded by Green Friday (the day after Thanksgiving).
• The winner will be announced via Clever Cycles’ website, email newsletter, and social media channels.

Prize Details

• The winner will receive a store credit equal to the price of the Brompton bike they purchased at Clever Cycles up to $2000.
• The store credit is non-transferable and must be used within 12 months of issuance.

Health and Safety

• Participants must ensure they are in good physical condition to safely perform the folding process.
• Clever Cycles is not liable for any injuries sustained during the challenge.

Additional Rules

• Clever Cycles reserves the right to disqualify any participant for violating these rules.
• Clever Cycles reserves the right to modify these rules at any time for the integrity of the challenge.
• By participating, participants grant Clever Cycles the right to use photos, videos, and names for promotional purposes related to the Brompton Folding Challenge.
