Frequently Asked Questions

The Hopper measures 72" total length with a 22.5" standover — roughly the same footprint as a standard bicycle. It fits in apartment hallways, crowded bike racks, and four across a single car parking space, which is what makes it practical for city living and small-space storage.

The Hopper carries up to 500 lb combined — that's rider, passenger, and cargo together. The frame is 4130-equivalent aluminum, and the triple-walled 20" wheels, cargo-rated suspension fork, and hydraulic disc brakes are all spec'd specifically for that kind of load.

It runs a 48V 750W Xtracycle rear hub motor with an integrated torque sensor, so assist feels smooth and proportional to how hard you're pedaling. The battery is a 720Wh unit built into the downtube, and there's also a quick-start throttle for pulling away from stops when you're loaded up.

The bike ships ready to ride with Hooptie passenger rails, a PorterRack front rack, footrests, a double-leg kickstand, and composite fenders already included. Out of the box it can carry one child seat plus one older passenger — no extra accessories required to start hauling.

Motor, UL 2849 certified by SGS. Battery, UL 2271 certified by SGS.

Yes — we have the Hopper available for test rides at our shop at 900 SE Hawthorne Blvd in Portland. We've been selling e-bikes since 2007 and we strongly encourage a test ride, especially for a cargo bike you're planning to use for family hauling or daily errands.

Yes, we offer 12-month zero-interest financing on the Hopper. It's a straightforward way to get into a capable electric cargo bike without paying everything upfront — ask us about it when you come in or reach out before your visit.

The Hopper rolls on 20" triple-walled wheels fitted with Kenda Kwick anti-puncture tires — built to handle the weight a cargo bike actually carries day to day. Stopping power comes from 174 Hudson hydraulic disc brakes, which give you reliable, consistent braking whether you're loaded with groceries or carrying a passenger.
