The Xtracycle Hopper is a compact longtail cargo bike that delivers real hauling capacity in the footprint of a regular bicycle. At 72" total length and a 22.5" standover, it's short enough to maneuver through crowded bike racks, store in an apartment hallway, or fit four across a single car parking space — while still carrying up to 500 lb of rider, passenger, and cargo on its 4130-equivalent aluminum frame. Xtracycle designed the Hopper around the daily trips most families actually make: preschool drop-off, grocery runs, farmers market hauls, and the quick errands that used to mean driving.
A 48V 750W Xtracycle rear hub motor with integrated torque sensor provides smooth, responsive pedal assist, and a quick-start throttle gives you an extra hand when pulling away from a stop under load. The 720Wh downtube battery, SunTour cargo-rated suspension fork, 174 Hudson hydraulic disc brakes, and triple-walled 20" wheels with Kenda Kwick anti-puncture tires are all sized for the weight a cargo bike actually carries. The bike ships with the Hooptie passenger rails, PorterRack front rack, footrests, double-leg kickstand, and composite fenders already included — ready to carry one child seat plus one older passenger the day it arrives.
Compact Footprint, Full-Size Capacity

- Hooptie passenger rails, PorterRack front rack, footrests, KickBack 4 double-leg kickstand, and composite fenders are all included.
- Carries one rear-mounted child seat plus one older kid on the Hooptie, or two kids on the Hooptie with the appropriate cushion.
- 174 Hudson 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors and motor cutoff sensor for confident stops when fully loaded.
- SunTour Mobie A32 cargo-rated 20" suspension fork takes the edge off rough pavement and curb drops.
- Dropper seatpost with 60mm travel makes the bike easy to share between riders of different heights and simpler to stop on.
- Triple-walled, tubeless-ready alloy rims with 12G rear spokes and Kenda Kwick tires (anti-puncture, reflective sidewall) are built for cargo loads.
- Integrated 174 Hudson front and rear lights run off the main battery.
