Brompton Frame Size Information
How Do I Know Which Size Brompton I Need?
Every Brompton frame is the same size. What changes are the components that fine-tune the fit—namely the seatpost, handlebar type, and stem.
Seatpost Options
Brompton offers three seatpost lengths to match different riders and storage needs:
- Standard: Best for riders with an inside leg up to about 33″. Keeps the bike compact when folded.
- Extended: About 2.5″ longer. Great if you need a little more legroom; because it reaches the ground when folded, the saddle sits higher in the folded position.
- Telescopic: For taller riders (or sharing with one). Extra height without making the folded bike taller. Not standard because it adds a bit of weight.
16″ Wheel Models (C, P, and T Lines)
The classic Brompton lineup shares the same frame geometry but uses different handlebar heights and stems for a tailored fit:
- Low: Sporty, road-bike-like position; good for shorter riders or those who prefer a flatter bar.
- Mid: The all-rounder—neutral and comfortable for most riders.
- High: Upright and relaxed; great for taller riders or a Dutch-bike feel.
For most people, the Mid handlebar is the sweet spot—upright enough for visibility, low enough for control.
