Swapping from Brompton’s stock 50T to this 44T chainring is a straightforward way to get lower gears without changing your drivetrain. The smaller ring gives roughly a 12% reduction in gearing, making starts, hills, and heavier loads feel more manageable.
Because you’re moving to a smaller chainring, you may need to remove links from the chain to maintain proper tension when the bike is folded. Instructions are included with the part.
