Tern Cargo Bike Accessory Compatibility Guide
Tern’s cargo accessories are a system — and generation matters. A Clubhouse that fits a GSD won’t fit an HSD, and the rain cover for one Clubhouse won’t stretch over another. This chart is maintained by the crew at Clever Cycles and verified against the Tern part numbers in our own stock, so you can trust it whether you bought your bike from us or not. How the system stacks
- Pick the passenger platform first. Compact bikes (HSD, Quick Haul, Short Haul) take the Clubhouse Mini; the big bikes (GSD, Quick Haul Long, Orox) take the full-size Clubhouse. Nearly everything else attaches to one of these.
- Weather protection builds in layers. The Sun Shield clips to the Clubhouse, and the Rain Shield snaps over the Sun Shield — the Rain Shield can’t be used alone. Clubhouse + Sun Shield + Rain Shield is what Tern calls the Clubhouse Fort.
- Storm Boxes sit inside a Clubhouse — a weatherproof bucket for groceries, gear, or a dog, with an optional snap-on Cargo Lid.
- Front racks use the Combo Mount on the head tube: the Hauler Rack needs the Luggage Truss CMT to attach, the Hardshell Hauler bolts straight on, and the Transporteur Rack mounts to the frame instead.

Short Haul: takes the same Mini system as the Quick Haul — Clubhouse Mini (either gen), Sun/Rain Shield Mini, Storm Box Mini, DuoStand Gen 3, and Cargo Hold 28/37 panniers. Orox: takes the Clubhouse Mini Gen 1, Clubhouse Gen 4, Stow Decks, and its own Cargo Hold 72 panniers.
Child seats
For seats mounted to the rear rack of an HSD, Quick Haul, or GSD, Tern recommends the Thule Yepp 2 Maxi and Yepp Nexxt 2 Maxi in the rack-mount version — frame-mount versions of the same seats do not fit cargo racks, so check the box carefully. The Clubhouse Gen 4 carries two seats on its included expansion bar and also accepts the Bobike GO Maxi and Urban Iki; the Clubhouse Mini Gen 2 includes a child-seat expansion bar as well.
