Paint-Friendly Chain Lock with Industrial-Grade Protection
The Abus Ivera Chain 7210K uses IvyTex technology, a hi-tech fabric coating that is durable, highly flexible, weatherproof, and resistant to liquids. The chain itself is made of 7mm thick hardened steel, and the concept behind IvyTex has already been used for several years in industrial applications in areas subjected to high loads, where moving parts have to be protected against wear and tear. The effect is twofold: it provides protection against wear and tear, as well as preventing the chain from causing damage to the bicycle. Water is not absorbed by the fabric, protecting the lock against corrosion even during frequent use in wet weather.
The chain lock offers good protection with Abus security level 8 for medium theft risk and is recommended for securing good bikes. The lock has been intensively tested for resistance to typical attempts to break it open using tools such as bolt cutters, hammers, or pliers. An automatic locking mechanism engages without requiring a key, and a 360° bolt design allows reliable engagement from any angle for nighttime locking convenience.
