During the break-in period, Proofide should be applied several times to help the leather mold to your unique anatomy. Once broken in, periodic application every 3-6 months keeps the leather nourished and protected from the elements. The application process is straightforward: apply a thin layer to the finished top side of the leather, allow it to penetrate for at least one hour, then vigorously buff with a clean, soft cloth until a healthy sheen returns. For the underside, leave the coating on to protect against dirt and moisture.
