A flat tire doesn't have to end your ride. The Park Tool VP-1 Vulcanizing Patch Kit comes with everything needed to repair a punctured inner tube and get it ready for reinstallation and inflation. Together with the included vulcanizing fluid, the butyl patches form a molecular bond with the inner tube — creating a permanent repair for any puncture. The application process is straightforward: spread a thin layer of vulcanizing fluid over the area, let it dry, remove the patch backing, apply firm pressure at the edges, and inspect the bond after a minute or two.
Six thin, flexible patches with tapered edges blend cleanly with the tube's profile, so repaired tubes roll smoothly without added bulk. The whole kit fits in a compact plastic box — small enough to slip into a saddle bag or jersey pocket — making it an easy addition to any ride kit.
