The Segway MUXI Pro takes the short-tail utility MUXI and adds the two things riders ask us for most: gears and suspension. A 9-speed drivetrain with Segway's electronic auto-shifting changes gear for you based on your pedaling cadence, so you never think about which gear you're in, whether you're pulling away from a light with a kid on the back or spinning up a Portland hill. A 70mm suspension fork takes the edge off cracked pavement, curb cuts, and gravel paths. Underneath, it's the same proven platform: a quiet 750W direct-drive rear hub motor with 80 Nm of torque, a 717Wh removable battery good for up to 73 miles per charge, a low step-through frame, and 20" x 3.0" tires that stay planted when the bike is loaded.
Front and rear 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors deliver consistent, low-effort stopping, and Segway's Intelligent Ride System layers in traction control, hill descent control, hill start assist, regenerative braking, and adaptive power so the bike stays predictable whether you're riding light or hauling groceries and a passenger. A water-resistant color TFT display shows speed, navigation, battery, and call notifications, integrated turn signals help you communicate with traffic, and the bike pairs with the Segway Mobility app for ride data and settings. Apple Find My, GPS tracking, and the AirLock proximity unlock system give you real anti-theft peace of mind when the bike is parked outside a shop or school. With a 418 lb total payload, a 121 lb rear rack, and the full MUXI accessory ecosystem, the MUXI Pro scales from solo commuter to two-up family hauler.
MUXI vs. MUXI Pro
- Gears: the MUXI is single-speed; the Pro adds a 9-speed drivetrain with electronic auto-shifting.
- Suspension: the MUXI has a rigid fork; the Pro adds a 70mm-travel suspension fork.
- Turn signals: integrated turn indicators are standard on the Pro.
