Hand-Pulled Linocut Print for Cyclists Who Know That Feeling
"Sprinted Away" is an original linocut print by California-based printmaker and illustrator Shang Daili, part of her ongoing series of cycling-themed relief prints. The image depicts a girl cyclist mid-ride — the kind of moment every cyclist knows. Each print is hand-carved from a linoleum block, hand-inked, and pressed one sheet at a time in her studio. Because every impression is pulled by hand rather than run through a press or reproduced digitally, no two prints are exactly alike: subtle variations in ink coverage, registration, and impression depth are inherent to the medium and part of what makes each piece its own original.
Original Art, Not a Reproduction
- Hand-carved linoleum block, hand-inked, and hand-pulled — a true original relief print, not a giclée or digital reproduction.
- Printed with oil-based archival ink for fade-resistant, long-lasting color.
- 300 gsm acid-free cotton paper — heavyweight, archival fine art stock used for gallery and museum editions.
- Print area fills nearly the full sheet: approximately 8" × 10" image on an 8" × 10" sheet.
- Each print is one-of-a-kind: small variations in ink and impression are part of the handmade process.
- Part of Shang Daili's cycling print series, alongside Coffee and Col, Ride to Ramen, Salted Watermelon, and others.
