The SON Ladelux is a hub dynamo headlight engineered to do two things most lights can't: throw a true high beam when you need it, and charge your devices while you ride. Built on the optical foundation of the acclaimed Edelux II, it delivers a layered, cut-off low beam at 150 lux for normal conditions and steps up to 200 lux in high beam mode for unlit roads, paths, and fast descents. That high beam is powered by an integrated 1200mAh lithium-ion buffer battery, which means it's available at any speed — including a full stop — with no flickering, no slowdown penalty, and no dimming at intersections.
The same buffer battery powers a 5W USB charging port built into the handlebar switch, letting you top off a phone, GPS, or light on the go without a separate battery pack. A glove-friendly touch-field button toggles between modes, and a color-coded status LED keeps you informed at a glance — green for low beam, blue for high beam, pulsating when charging is active. Handmade in Germany and StVZO-approved, the Ladelux is built for riders who want their lighting system to be as reliable and considered as the rest of their bike.
Everything You Need on Every Ride
- 150 lux low beam always available regardless of battery charge level; 200 lux high beam engages with a single button press when the buffer battery is sufficiently charged.
- Integrated 1200mAh lithium-ion buffer battery enables high beam and USB charging at any riding speed, including stationary standlight mode (approx. 4 minutes).
- USB charging port on the handlebar switch outputs 5W at 5.2V via the included SON Magnetic Charging Cable (USB-C or Lightning, 30cm or 46cm).
- Charging activates automatically when the magnetic cable is connected; status LED pulsates to confirm current flow.
- Touch-field button on the handlebar switch responds to finger pressure even through gloves; short press cycles between modes, long press powers off.
- Color-coded status LED shows current mode at a glance: steady green (low beam), steady blue (high beam), pulsating (charging active), 3x flash (function unavailable due to low battery).
- Lighting technology and reflector design based on the Edelux II for a well-shaped, road-optimized beam pattern that illuminates evenly without blinding oncoming traffic.
- All-aluminum housing with scratch-resistant sapphire glass lens; built-in membrane vents any condensation without intervention.
- 2-pin output powers a standard dynamo rear light directly from the headlight.
